Independent Review of the Banking Code Compliance Committee
About The Review
The Banking Code Compliance Committee (BCCC) is undergoing an independent review, as required by its Charter. Peter Kell has been appointed to conduct the review.
The review is an opportunity to consider how the BCCC can continue to deliver strong, independent oversight of the banks’ compliance with the Banking Code of Practice. It will explore what is working well, where the BCCC can be more effective, and how its impact can be strengthened for the future.
Stakeholders are invited to contribute through the public consultation process, running from October to December 2026.
The Banking Code of Practice is also subject to a separate independent review. Details of that review and how to make submissions can be found here.
